Living Contemplatively
This program calls out to those who desire to live more contemplatively in the world, to grow in union with God and others, and to become more aware, intentional and free. God liberates us and heals us through the practice of contemplative prayer. It’s worth a day a month and an hour a day. We will focus on three works of Thomas Merton and use his Bridges to Contemplative Living series as our guide throughout the year. Bring a bag lunch. Dates: 9 Saturdays: September 18th, October 23rd, November
20th, December 11th, January 8th, February 5th, March 5th, April
2nd, May 7th
Time: 9:30 AM – 3:30 PM. Please call to register.

40 Days For Life to Be Held at Cherry Hill Women's Center from September 22-October 31
40 Days for Life, an international pro-life campaign to reduce the 1.2 annual abortions in the United States and those around the world, will be holding vigils outside the Cherry Hill Women's Center at 502 N. Kings Highway in Cherry Hill from September 22-October 31. Nationally, this project has resulted in the closing of five abortion facilities, the decision of 32 workers at abortion facilities to quit and the saving of over 2,800 lives of unborn children. For information on how to take part, call Claire at 856-234-6198 or e-mail her. You can also visit the campaign's website.
6K Run, Sponsored by A Drink for Tomorrow, at Moorestown High School on September 26, 2010
Funds from the race will be used to provide clean, safe drinking water to impoverished communities throughout the world. Because of lack of such a resource, women and children in developing countries walk an average of 6k daily to get water. The effort needed to do this, and the illness prompted by contaminated water, which causes children to miss school, are important factors in the cycle of poverty.
You can register for the race at this site for $20.00 through September 24 and $25.00 thereafter until race day. Registration, at the high school at 350 Bridgeboro Road, begins at 8:30 a.m. on 9/26. This is followed by a one mile walk/run run; the 6k race begins at 9:45 a.m. The event is rain or shine and the first 200 registrants will recive a t-shirt. The website for A Drink for Tomorrow is here.
Perpetual Adoration at Holy Name, Delran: More Volunteers Needed
Perpetual adoration (I.e., 24 hours a day, 365 days a year) of the Eucharist is being promoted by Pope Benedict XVI, who requested that regional centers for this be established worldwide. In Burlington County, Holy Name Church in Delran (part of Resurrection Parish) has been a center for perpetual adoration for over 17 years. The chance to spend time before the Blessed Sacrament may be of crucial importance to people suffering from crises in their lives, but the church needs regular volunteer to ensure that the chapel is not left empty. Since Holy Name is a regional center, they are seeking volunteers from surrounding parishes. If you are interested in setting aside a regular time (just one hour) for this worship or if you need questions answered before making a decision, please contact Pat Wilf at 856-461-4681. Holy Name Church is located at 260 Conrow Road, close to the intersection of Bridgeboro and Harford Roads, about 3.5 miles from Our Lady of Good Counsel.
